DCDC’S 40th ANNIVERSARY SEASON

Footprints
Saturday, October 4, 2008 at (NEW TIME) 7:30pm Victoria Theatre
DCDC founder, Jeraldyne Blunden, touched many lives. Her passion for dance left its imprint on every aspect of dance and motivated performers and choreographers to perfect their work under her tutelage and care. Come witness for yourself how four DCDC artists were thus moved to create dance out of Blunden's legacy of fire that still burns the floorboards under the living feet of their work. Three of the works are a part of DCDC's extensive repertoire—In My Father's House by Debbie Blunden-Diggs, Beyond A Cliff by Dwight Rhoden, Unresolved by Shonna Hickman Matlock, and a new work by former DCDC artist Gina Walther.
Celebrations
Saturday, February 7, 2009 at (NEW TIME) 7:30pm Victoria Theatre
Collaboration is a form of celebration. DCDC has been doing it for years and not only on stage. The dance company was built through countless collaborations, ranging from friends of Mrs. Blunden who laid down the Marley floor in the dance studio to mothers making costumes for the dancers to fathers building sets for performances. Celebration, then, is the coming together of festive souls to achieve something with joy. That is the emotion DCDC has in mind when we perform with a gospel choir, a jazz ensemble, and a classical musician for an evening of collaboration and celebration!
