BodyTalk Community Connection Series
The series focuses on fostering a love for ourselves and our community. Join the #BodyTalkVillage during our next series.
BodyTalk is led by DCDC teaching artists, is accessible via Zoom (in-person series forthcoming), and is appropriate for ages 10 to senior citizens. No previous dance training is required, and participants are encouraged to move at their own pace. More details to come.
Stains
Created by dance artist Quentin Apollovaughn Sledge, Stains is a conversation about the history of race and racism, particularly in America. It shines a light on the true treatment of our enslaved ancestors as well as our contemporary foremothers and forefathers post-emancipation. It attempts to explain why racial conversations are difficult for white people as well as proposes an angle of Truth as a means of healing.
